Will you make it?

I am 71 and I work 5 days a week as a self employed decorater. I%26#039;ve been everywhere ,done everything, I don%26#039;t drink but I get through about 30 smokes a day.I am a bum to the enth degree. I%26#039;ve told more than my share of lies, wasted more money than you would believe. I have been to almost every country in the world.I must be getting to the end of everything now but not for some time I hope. I have been married more than once and I have more than my share of kids I coul%26#039;nt have packed more into one life with a shoe horn and its been great. The question is,, I got here, Will you and will you get in as much as I have?

probably not no i will still be stuck on this computer when im 71

Reply:Well, I%26#039;m 32 and at 71 i hope my kid will still be talking to me. I also hope that I%26#039;m not stuck in this sh!t hole of a town, and that i have seen a bit more of the world.





I have also wasted tons of money and when i think abouti t now, i just shrug and look at the great things i have in my house.

I%26#039;m looking forward to the rest of my life and discovering more and more about the world .





Today, I discovered the joys of fruit and vegetable carving. I never realised before what an artform it is.





Who knows what tomorrow will bring......

Reply:I highly doubt I will ever do all of the things that you have done. I don%26#039;t feel that it is the things you do or where you go that make your life full though. I am happy with just staying at home with my kids and seeing that they grow up happy. I love being a wife and making my husband happy. I feel that my life is just as full as yours .. I don%26#039;t have the urge to fill it full of people and things and places just to say I have done all of those things. At the end of my life I can look back and say I raised those children to be the people that they are, I kept that house a place of refuge for those that I love, and i made that man as happy as I possibly could. After saying all three of those things I will die knowing that my life was fully, happy, and that I lost nothing in having done nothing else. I think it is nice that you have done all of those things because it made you happy and full filled to have done so. Congratulations on living your life the way you wanted and knowing that you have done most of what you wanted to do in this life.
