Ouch! I mistook another woman for being pregnant as well?

As we were walking tonight to try to get the ball rolling on labor (no still not in active labor yet) we came across three heavier set women who we stopped and chatted with for a moment about our daughter. One of the women asked when I was due and what I was having. I told her and the asked her the same and she said %26quot;I%26#039;m not pregnant.%26quot; Boy did I wish I had a shoe horn to pry my foot out of my mouth!!! I was so embarrassed! I apologized to the woman explaining that I had baby on the brain and she chuckled and said not to worry about it. I felt better and my husband later told me not to worry about it since she took it all in stride and knew it was an honest mistake. I still feel a little bad though!

Any of you have %26quot;duh%26quot; moments like that? Humor me please :) I%26#039;m waiting for real labor to kick in, lol.

Ouch! I mistook another woman for being pregnant as well?
Oh my gosh you poor thing! Haha, I couldn%26#039;t help but laugh, but you must have been mortified! At least the lady laughed it off! I have never, thank god, done this to anybody - however my friend did it to someone last week who turned out to have had her baby five months prior! But even worse, a few years ago now, I was behind someone at a shop checkout, and the checkout lady asked the woman in front of me when she was due, and the woman said %26quot;I%26#039;m not pregnant%26quot; and burst into tears! I don%26#039;t know who I felt more sorry for! Good luck with your labour!! :-)
Reply:Didn%26#039;t get to answer the question but I have done this to a skinny woman with what appeared to be a pregnant belly. She was upset, I tried to cover it up like I meant something else... it was horrible. Report It

Reply:I like Dave Barry´s advice: NEVER assume the woman is pregnant unless you can actually SEE the baby coming out of her!

Oops! I try not to say such things, but we all put our feet in it sometimes. Chalk it up to one of those funny moments you can share.

Here´s something to think about: Are you likely to ever see this woman again? If not, then don%26#039;t worry about it.
Reply:As a woman who is very often mistaken as pregnant take my word that it is ok. Did she look pregnant? In my family all the women have big tummys. We always look pregnant. My Gram, my Mom, me, my cousin....all of us look pregnant and even at my skinniest I still looked pregnant. People get used to it...and brush it off. The best part about being pregnant with my daughter was being able to say YES I am pregnant...it was great! Now I say...nope not pregnant...still fat from my 10 month old....lol. Good luck with the labor and delivery. Mandy
Reply:No, not really but I have had this annoying boy at school ask me every month %26quot;are you pregnant%26quot; and it%26#039;s like %26quot;NO, I%26#039;LL LET YOU KNOW GEEZ%26quot;. I%26#039;d probably laugh if off if it did happened. The only reason I got mad at him is because he had been doign it all school year.
Reply:OMG! I hate it when that happens. I havent said that to anyone, but I have said something close to as embarrassing as that. Like someone else said, if you%26#039;ll never see her again I wouldnt worry - and thank God if you wont LOL
Reply:I did the same thing, but I knew her from my son%26#039;s school. I said you haven%26#039;t had that baby yet and she said he%26#039;s six months old. I could have died and we were in a public place where people knew both of us. Oh congratulations!!!
Reply:I once mistook a man for a woman, but he was so pretty, long beautiful hair and clean full face. He was slender and dressed in black athletic clothes. I felt so bad, and what it must have done to his ego!
Reply:I worked in a cafe and asked a customer when she was due, she said she already had the baby
Reply:It happens to alot of fat people, It hurts your feelings, Because its just a painfull reminder that you need to lose weight.
Reply:I think each of us have done this, or had it done to us. It happens! Oh well; you%26#039;ll never have to see her again.
Reply:lol, I have come close to doing that before, but caught myself thankfully
