Do you get irritated with those horn-honking door locks?

This has happened more than once. I am walking right in front of a car when all of a sudden the horn blares. I just about jump out of my shoes. You look at the owner, who is now 30 feet away and they say nothing.

I think horns are for emergencies. It%26#039;s like the kid who cried wolf. Pretty soon people will be immune to horn honks and won%26#039;t pay attention when they should. The consequences, I think, are dangerous.

Do you get irritated with those horn-honking door locks?
Yes - I don%26#039;t really understand the point of having them. I have automatic locks on my door WITHOUT the horn - I don%26#039;t need to unlock the car until I get about 4 feet away, and by then, I hear the lock %26quot;click%26quot; and see them rise! Same goes for car alarms. When my husband had an automatic starter installed on my car, I made sure he knew that I did NOT want an alarm system included! What a waste of money - nobody pays attention to them anyway.

May I say two words that are much more effective than any car alarm? CAR INSURANCE!
Reply:you have too much time on your hands. if a horn honks you are going to notice no matter how many times you have heard it.
Reply:i agree....i always think someone is honking at me
Reply:Yes. Right up there with everyone walking, in a store, in a restaurant, in a check out line, driving in their car, in the elevator...being on their cell phone.
Reply:Well, maybe you shouldn%26#039;t be walking in front of cars when your not suppose to
Reply:what a freak
Reply:you are just embarrassed that you jumped. now quit your gripping. an emergency horn honk and the alarm beeping are totally different.
Reply:You are right. However, most people are morons. Those of us with standards are fighting an uphill battle.
Reply:i happen to like my horn honking once when i lock my car. it lets me know it locked. it%26#039;s not like it is an incessant honking or anything like that.
Reply:Nope I love %26#039;em!!! When I first got my remote beeper in my new car I was at the mall and watched as someone who was between two pickup trucks in a small car try to back out of their parking space. As they began to back out I hit the remote to activate the horn just to be a jerk. It was pretty funny and really relatively harmless. It worked three times before they figured it out. And even if you hear it a lot you%26#039;ld be a fool to ignore it. What of people who live in cities and hear that sort of noise often , do they become immune to the warnings? I think not; horns are loud enough to demand attention anyway.
Reply:yep its also annoying when people talk on thier cell phones around u that u think they r talking 2 u. you have 2 look at them 2 make sure
